Up to 6 hours of excess time can be carried over to the next cycle. The other states that CECA provides CE for do not allow hours to be carried over. The continuing education rule for NC is that half of your CE time must come from a classroom setting, so if you take an 8 hour class and 2 tests, that will give you enough CE time for two renewal cycles.
