The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Craft
Championship was held
For the first time,
the competition was held as part of the ABCs National Educational Conference
and Exposition (EdCon & Expo). The Winner of the Commercial/Industrial Competition
is Pawel David of Gaylor Electrics Indiana location. Pawel is a third year
apprentice at the Indianapolis ABC Chapter. He won the Indiana state championship
in February. In addition to the first place gold medal, Pawel won $750.00 and
a Hilti 18 volt cordless drill.
Mark Wolschleger was the Gold Medalist winner at the 2012 ABC National Craft Championships in San Antonio, Texas.
Mark competed in the Electrical: Residential/Commercial competition that ended on April 27th. Mark was also the First Place winner at the NC Department of Labor Electrical Contest at the NC State Fair in Raleigh last fall, which qualified him to compete at the ABC National Competition.
Mark, who works
in the Watson Electrical Raleigh Division, won both cash and other prizes in addition
to his Gold Medal.
The National Craft Championships are composed of apprentices from all over the country competing in twelve different competitions representing 10 crafts over two days. The competition covers both a written exam and a practical hands-on performance test. The competition took place in conjunction with the 2012 ABC EdCon & Expo Conference.

Philligin of Watson Electricals Wilmington NC location came in 2nd Place
in the Commercial/Residential Competition. Gregory won the NC Electrical Apprentice
Contest last October and his trip to the ABC National Craft Championship was sponsored
by CECAs Bill Boyette Scholarship Fund.
Both Gaylor and Watson have several locations throughout the Carolinas.
